Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped apples, light brown sugar, and half a teaspoon of vanilla and cinnamon. Sauté until the apples are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, baking powder, kosher salt, ground cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. Set aside.
Creaming Butter and Sugars
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
Adding Eggs and Vanilla
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
Combine and Bake
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the sautéed apples.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Prepare the Maple Glaze
- While the brownies are baking, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan. Stir in maple syrup, powdered sugar, and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
Glaze and Cool
- Once the brownies are removed from the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle the maple glaze generously over the top.
- Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
