Ingredients
  

Batter Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Mix-Ins

  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples Firm apples recommended
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Can substitute with walnuts or almonds

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar until well blended.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and chopped pecans.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra touch. Pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
