Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the buttermilk and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined; don’t overmix!
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently fold it several times until it comes together.
- Roll or pat the dough out to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes
