Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup cold, cubed unsalted butter Keep the butter cold for flaky texture.
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk Can substitute with regular milk mixed with vinegar or lemon juice.
  • 1/2 cup active dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk and the dissolved yeast until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Roll it out gently to about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Use a biscuit cutter to cut into rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
  4. Serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes
