- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the buttermilk and the dissolved yeast until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Shaping and Baking
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Roll it out gently to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut into rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
