  • 1 cup butter, softened Use room temperature butter for better emulsification.
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 pieces eggs Room temperature eggs yield fluffier texture.
  • 2 cups buttermilk Can be substituted with regular milk or a dairy alternative.
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
Cinnamon Swirl Mixture
  • 2/3 cup sugar For the cinnamon swirl.
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two loaf pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, and eggs. Mix until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the buttermilk until smooth, then gradually add in the flour and baking soda, mixing until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, blend together the sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pans.
  2. Sprinkle three-quarters of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  3. Layer the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
  4. Using a knife, gently swirl the batter for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness. Allow to cool in the pans for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
