Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two loaf pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, sugar, and eggs. Mix until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the buttermilk until smooth, then gradually add in the flour and baking soda, mixing until just combined.
- In a small bowl, blend together the sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pans.
- Sprinkle three-quarters of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
- Layer the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
- Using a knife, gently swirl the batter for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness. Allow to cool in the pans for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
