Method
- Rinse the bell peppers and pat them dry. Remove the tops and ensure the peppers will fit in your air fryer standing upright. Remove as much of the top as necessary for them to fit. Discard the seeds and membranes from the peppers. Set the peppers aside. Optionally, dice the tops to add to the filling.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, and diced pepper tops if using. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until the meat is cooked through.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more, stirring often.
- Stir in the cooked rice, diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well to combine.
- Arrange the peppers in the air fryer basket, using small balls of foil if needed to help them stand up straight. Leave space between each pepper for air to circulate.
- Carefully spoon the filling mixture into each pepper.
- Air fry at 360 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes or until the peppers reach your desired level of tenderness.
- Sprinkle the tops of the peppers with shredded cheese and return them to the air fryer for 1 minute to melt the cheese.
Notes
