Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 fillets salmon fillets About 1/2 pound total, skin-on or skinless both work.
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil About 1.5 teaspoons.
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika Smoked paprika adds depth.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 lemon lemon, sliced Plus extra wedges if desired.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the fillets and rub it in gently.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, paprika, Kosher salt, and cracked pepper. Mix well.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the top of the salmon. Press lightly so it adheres.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place fillets in a single layer, skin-side down if applicable.
Cooking
  1. Set the air fryer to 400°F (205°C) and cook for 8 minutes.
  2. Check for doneness. Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches at least 145°F (63°C). If you prefer medium doneness, remove it at 125–130°F for carryover cooking.
  3. Remove salmon from the air fryer, squeeze fresh lemon over the top, and serve immediately.

Notes

Swap avocado oil for olive oil for a higher smoke point. Use 1/4 teaspoon onion powder if you don’t have garlic powder. If cooking thicker fillets, increase cook time slightly and monitor doneness.
