Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each bread slice. If using cooking spray, spray the bread lightly right before cooking.
- Place a slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of two bread slices. Lay a hot dog on top of each cheese slice. Add the second slice of cheese over the hot dog.
- Cover with the remaining bread slice, buttered side up.
Cooking
- Transfer the assembled sandwiches to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway at around 3 minutes.
- Check for golden brown bread and fully melted cheese. If needed, add 1–2 more minutes.
- Remove carefully, let rest 1 minute, then slice on a bias and serve.
