Preparation
- Pat chicken breasts dry and cut into even 1/2-inch strips.
- Slice the peppers and onion into similar-width strips.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken strips, peppers, and onions. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the fajita seasoning over the mixture.
- Mix well to coat all ingredients evenly.
- Cover the bowl or use a lid and shake or toss with tongs until everything is evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 3 minutes.
Cooking
- Place the chicken and vegetable mixture in the air fryer basket in a single layer or a loose mound.
- Cook for 16-18 minutes, shaking the basket at the halfway mark (around 8-9 minutes) to promote even browning.
- Check the internal temperature of the chicken using an instant-read thermometer; it should read 165°F (74°C).
Serving
- Let the fajita filling rest for 3-4 minutes before serving. Serve with warm tortillas or bowls and your favorite toppings.
