  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch red pepper flake optional
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions sliced

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  • In a large pot of boiling water, follow the package directions to cook the pasta.
  • Drain the cooked pasta and set it aside.

Step 2: Brown the Ground Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink.
  • If needed, drain any excess fat.
  • Add garlic and sauté until it becomes fragrant, which takes about 1 minute.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauce

  • Add soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper to the skillet.
  • Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold water, then add it to the ground beef mixture.
  • Stir and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  • Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked noodles and mix them in to combine.
  • Allow the noodles to sit in the sauce for 2-3 minutes to absorb some of the flavors.

Step 4: Serve

  • Top the dish with chopped green onions.
  • Serve and enjoy!
