Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour The primary ingredient for the crackers.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Adds flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric Gives color and flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram Can be substituted with oregano.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt-free seasoning Use salt to taste if needed.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Adds heat.
  • Pinch cayenne Optional for extra heat.
  • 7 tablespoons water Plus more as needed.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF and line a large baking sheet with good-quality parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the chickpea flour, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, marjoram, salt-free seasoning, black pepper, and cayenne.
  3. Gradually add the water to the dry mixture, stirring until well combined. Test the batter's consistency by pouring a teaspoon onto the parchment paper – it should hold its shape without being too thick. Adjust with more water if necessary.
  4. Use a teaspoon to drop circles of batter onto the baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each.
  5. Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and the tops feel firm.
  6. Carefully peel the parchment away and flip the crackers over, baking for an additional 5 minutes or until both sides are crispy.

Store crackers in an airtight container at room temperature. They remain fresh for 3-5 days, or freeze in a resealable bag for longer storage. Experiment with different herbs and spices for varied flavors.
