Ingredients

  • 2 Medium Bananas sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Butter melted
  • 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir this dry mixture into the butter mixture until smooth.
  • Fold in the sour cream, and if desired, add walnuts and mashed bananas.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
  • Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ripe Bananas: Use overripe bananas with brown spots for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
Mix Gently: Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined to avoid overmixing, which can make the bread dense.
Customize: Feel free to customize your banana bread with add-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit.
