Ingredients

For Banana Bread Brownies:

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3 Bananas Mashed
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick Unsalted Butter, at Room Temperature
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Eggs at Room Temperature
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts Chopped
  • 3/4 tsp Salt

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Prepare Banana Batter:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs using an electric mixer. Beat until well combined.
  • Add mashed bananas and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.

Add Dry Ingredients:

  • Incorporate the dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt) into the batter. Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in chopped walnuts.

Bake:

  • Pour the banana batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, indicating that the brownies are ready.

Cool Brownies:

  • Remove the baking pan from the oven and let the banana bread brownies cool slightly.

Prepare Frosting:

  • While the brownies are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a saucepan, melt butter until it reaches a medium brown color.
  • Turn off the heat and add powdered sugar (1 cup at a time), stirring until combined after each addition.
  • Add milk and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Frost the Brownies:

  • Pour the frosting over the brownies, spreading it evenly.
  • Allow the banana bread brownies to cool completely.

Cut and Serve:

  • Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and serve. Enjoy your Banana Bread Brownies!
