PECAN PIE LAYER

¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar

½ cup light corn syrup

⅓ cup butter, melted and cooled slightly

3 large eggs, lightly beaten

¼ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1½cups pecans
