Old Fashioned Goulash

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 large Yellow onion, diced
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 T Italian seasoning
  • 1 T Adobo Seasoning
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 T seasoned salt
  • 1/2 T black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Begin by sautéing your ground meat in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it’s only half cooked. Then, remove it from the heat.
  2. Next, add the garlic, onions, and olive oil to the skillet. Continue cooking until the meat is fully cooked.
  3. Add the water, broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, and seasonings like salt, pepper, and adobo seasoning. Mix everything together.
  4. Reduce the heat, cover the skillet, and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Introduce the uncooked elbow macaroni to the skillet, making sure to stir it well until it’s evenly combined.
  6. Cover the skillet once more and let it simmer for approximately 30 minutes.
  7. Don’t forget to remove the bay leaves when you’re finished.
  8. Add the cheddar cheese and stir until it’s fully combined.
  9. Finally, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top just before serving.
