hershey’s chocolate cake / cupcakes

Ingredients

Dry ingredients
  • 1-3/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp vanillin sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking powder
Wet ingredients
  • large eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup orange juice or almond milk
  • 2 tsp coffee dissolved in 1 cup hot water
Glaze
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix together all dry ingredients.

  3. Beat in all wet ingredients for 2 minutes.

  4. Pour into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan or 28 cupcake pan (lined with cupcake holders if desired).

  5. for cake: Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Insert toothpick in middle at 50 minutes and remove it. If clean, remove cake. If not clean, continue baking for 10 more minutes.

    for cupcakes: Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

  6. Glaze: mix all glaze ingredients, top over cake (cupcakes) and refrigerate.
