RECIPE :
Cherry Cheesecake Layered Dessert
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 packages shortbread cakes (or 1 Angel food cake)
- 2 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, softened (can use fat free)
- 1 (16 oz.) container sour cream (can use low fat)
- 2 sm. boxes vanilla instant pudding (can use fat free/sugar free)
- 1 large can cherry pie filling
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Prepare the pudding according to the directions on the box and let it chill.
- In a separate large bowl, mix together cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
- Fold in the chilled pudding and blend on low speed until the mixture is smooth.
- Cut the bread into 1/2-inch pieces and cover the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan.
- Pour the cream mixture over the bread, smoothing it out evenly.
- Top the mixture with spoonfuls of cherry pie filling. Use a knife to swirl the pie filling through the cream filling for a decorative effect.
