Ingredients

  • - 1 pound ground beef
  • - 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • - 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • - 1/4 cup milk
  • - 1 egg
  • - 2 cloves garlic minced
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • - 2 cups marinara sauce
  • - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • - 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, milk, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
  • Form mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake meatballs for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • In a casserole dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce. Add a layer of baked meatballs, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

- Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat.
