Butter cookies
“Butter cookies are a classic delight that’s adored for their rich, buttery flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture.”
INGREDIENTS:
- 200 grams pomade butter (blend at room temperature)I
- 120 grams of sugar
- 280 grams of wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a bowl, start by mixing the butter and sugar together. Make sure the butter is at room temperature for smooth blending.
- Once mixed, add in the teaspoon of vanilla essence and continue to blend until well combined.
- Now, add the sifted flour to the mixture. Remember to sift the flour before adding it to the bowl to ensure a smooth texture. Blend everything together thoroughly.
- It’s time to shape the cookie dough. The easiest method is to form a roll with the dough, as shown below, using parchment or plastic wrap. Place the roll in the fridge for approximately 1 hour or until it’s firm.
- After chilling, slice the dough into rounds, each about 1 cm thick.
- Place the cookie slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C (about 350°F) for approximately 11-12 minutes. Keep an eye on the cookies, and once you notice the edges beginning to turn golden, take them out. If they still seem a bit soft, don’t worry. They will harden as they cool.
