Seafood Mac and Cheese

“Seafood Mac and Cheese is a decadent twist on the beloved classic, combining creamy macaroni and cheese with the savory goodness of seafood.”

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups of dry Macaroni
  • 6 oz. Claw Crab Meat
  • 8 oz. Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz. Sour Cream
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Spring Onion
  • 1 can Evaporated Milk
  • 8 oz. block Sharp White Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 oz. block Mozzarella Cheese
  • ¼ cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Salt, Black Pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If needed, peel and devein the shrimp.
  3. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain the macaroni well.
  4. Place the drained macaroni into a large mixing bowl.
  5. Add the sour cream to the macaroni and stir well until all the noodles are evenly coated.
  6. Incorporate the crab meat into the mixture, stirring thoroughly.
  7. Finely chop the green onion and set it aside.
  8. Grate the white cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese separately, and set both aside.
  9. In a medium saucepan or skillet, melt the butter over low heat.
  10. Add the shrimp to the melted butter, turning and stirring until the shrimp are lightly cooked. Once done, remove the shrimp from the pan and allow them to cool slightly. Chop the shrimp into smaller pieces and add them to the macaroni mixture.
  11. In the same saucepan, sauté the finely chopped onions until they become tender.
  12. Sprinkle flour over the onions, and mix well. Let it cook and brown for about one minute.
  13. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture starts to thicken.
  14. Gradually add the grated cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts and the mixture becomes smooth.
  15. Pour the cheese mixture over the macaroni and seafood mixture, stirring well to combine.
  16. Season the dish with salt and pepper to taste.
  17. Transfer the mixture into a well-buttered baking dish.
  18. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese over the top.
  19. Add breadcrumbs on top of the mozzarella cheese.
  20. Lightly sprinkle paprika on the surface to add color.
  21. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is lightly browned.
  22. Serve your delicious seafood and macaroni bake warm and enjoy!
