“Fudge is our favorite sweet treat at home, and the kids absolutely love it. I try a new fudge recipe almost every month, and if it’s a hit, I add it to my collection of dessert recipes.”

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 2/3 cups white sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (6 ounce) packages milk chocolate chips
  • 16 large marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, evaporated milk, unsalted butter, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. It’s important to keep stirring to prevent the mixture from scorching.
  3. Once the mixture reaches a rolling boil, cook it for about 5 minutes, continuing to stir constantly. This cooking time helps to ensure that your fudge sets properly.
  4. After 5 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat.
  5. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  6. Next, add the miniature marshmallows, vanilla extract, and chopped nuts (if you’re using them). Stir well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  7. Quickly transfer the fudge mixture into a greased 9×9-inch (or similar-sized) baking dish or pan. You can use parchment paper to line the pan for easier removal later.
  8. Smooth the top of the fudge with a spatula or the back of a spoon to make it even.
  9. Allow the fudge to cool and set at room temperature for several hours or until it’s completely firm. This usually takes a few hours, but it’s best to leave it overnight.
  10. Once the fudge is set, you can cut it into squares or your desired shapes.
  11. Store your homemade fudge in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator. It can last for up to a couple of weeks, but it’s so delicious that it might not last that long!
